Combining camping and office work at Gosa-po Campsite with ocean views –– Offers up to 50% off campsite fees and free Seohaerang-gil travel tours

JEONJU – The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Baek Ok-sun), in collaboration with the Jeonbuk Branch of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO, Branch Manager Yoo Han-soon) and the Western Regional Headquarters of the Korea National Park Service (KNPS, Head Kim Jong-sik), is running a camping-style workation program called "Campice" at Gosa-po Campsite in Buan until December 11.

"Campice"—a portmanteau of "Camping" and "Office"—is designed under the concept of "Commuting to the ocean, leaving work behind the sunset," allowing participants to seamlessly blend professional tasks with leisure at a scenic campsite.

This joint initiative aims to alleviate daily burnout by combining Jeonbuk’s rich marine and ecological resources with professional work infrastructure. Furthermore, it seeks to tackle regional depopulation challenges by attracting long-term stay population segments.

Individuals interested in participating can make advance reservations through the "Jeonbuk Marine Workation" section on the official "Travel Month" website. The program is available on a first-come, first-served basis for a maximum of 200 participants.

To enhance the experience, the program offers a discount of up to 50% on campsite usage fees, complimentary tours along the scenic Seohaerang-gil trail, and a special welcome gift kit valued at KRW 20,000 (including facial masks and cooling arm sleeves) for all 200 participants.

Additionally, participants who upload a sunset photo taken at the Gosa-po Campsite Workation Center onto their personal blogs with designated hashtags will receive a complimentary character keychain.

Notably, the program supports regional economic revitalization by providing local food vouchers in partnership with youth-led enterprises, ensuring that participants can enjoy local delicacies while directly contributing to the local commercial sector during their stay.

"We hope professionals can enjoy both work and relaxation in Jeonbuk, which boasts breathtaking open seas and abundant marine tourism resources," said Baek Ok-sun, CEO of the Foundation. "Moving forward, we will continue to collaborate with related organizations to develop region-specific contents, thereby boosting tourism and expanding local consumption."

Meanwhile, the KNPS has successfully established and currently operates the region's first-ever workation center at Gosa-po Campsite. Building on this kickoff program, the Foundation plans to continuously develop unique initiatives linking local marine tourism assets with professional workspaces, thereby expanding Jeonbuk's marine workation footprint.
