Yesterday, Asuncion Costanera saw hundreds of cyclists from the metropolitan area, central region, and even inland areas gather to participate in the 'Respect Cyclists Campaign.' At 9 AM, cyclists of all ages gathered at the botanical garden, the starting point, marking the beginning of the event.

The event, held in warm and pleasant weather, proceeded safely under the escort of police patrol cars and the Lince Group. The purpose of this urban cycling event was to create a safe transportation environment for everyone.

Cyclesport SA, which has hosted the event for 11 years, successfully led the event with the support of various brands. Participants who registered for this free event also had the opportunity to enter a raffle for cycling apparel and accessories.

Maria Fernanda Nunez, from the event organizers, emphasized the importance of raising awareness about respecting cyclists, saying, "Bicycles are also an important means of transportation, and drivers must maintain a safe distance of 1.5 meters from cyclists." She added, "Cyclists should wear helmets, refrain from using earphones, use the right lane or bike lanes, and comply with traffic rules for safe and harmonious coexistence."

Cycling Safety Rules

Wearing a helmet is essential, and wear bright-colored clothes to ensure visibility.
When riding at night, be sure to turn on the headlight and taillight.
Comply with traffic signals and avoid sudden turns or stops.
Always keep an eye on the movement of surrounding vehicles and be careful of blind spots.

Benefits of Cycling

It is an environmentally friendly means of transportation that contributes to reducing carbon emissions.
It is effective in promoting health, especially cardiovascular health and physical fitness.
You can avoid traffic congestion and shorten travel time.
It is an economical means of transportation with low maintenance costs.
Importance of Spreading Cycling Culture
Infrastructure expansion is needed for the safety of cyclists.
Drivers need to improve their awareness of cyclists.
Policy support is needed to promote cycling.

Additional Information

In addition to the information provided, it is important to note that the promotion of cycling culture can also have positive effects on the economy. For example, the development of cycling infrastructure can create jobs in construction and maintenance. Also, the increase in the number of cyclists can lead to an increase in demand for cycling-related products and services, which can boost the economy.

Furthermore, it is important to consider the health benefits of cycling. Regular cycling can help to improve cardiovascular health, reduce the risk of obesity, and improve mental health. In addition, cycling is a low-impact activity that is easy on the joints, making it a good option for people of all ages and fitness levels.

Finally, it is important to remember that cycling is a sustainable mode of transportation that can help to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. By promoting cycling, we can help to create a more sustainable future for ourselves and for generations to come.
