Expanding cooperation with European financial capital; strengthening Jeonbuk’s financial ecosystem and international network

Jeonbuk State announced on the 19th that DWS Asset Management has officially opened its Jeonju office in the Jeonbuk Innovation City.

The opening ceremony was attended by key figures, including Jörn Beißert, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Seoul; Kim Sung-joo, Chairman of the National Pension Service (NPS); and Lee Tae-young, CEO of DWS Asset Management.

Operating its Korean entity since 2002, DWS Asset Management is a world-class asset manager conducting business across various asset classes—such as domestic bonds, overseas real estate, and foreign equities—leveraging its extensive global network.

The entry of DWS Asset Management into Jeonbuk is expected to go beyond a simple regional expansion, serving as a catalyst for Jeonbuk to broaden its touchpoints with European global financial capital and diversify its international financial network.

The newly opened Jeonju office is anticipated to strengthen on-site communication with the National Pension Service while injecting vitality into the local financial ecosystem, backed by DWS’s global investment experience and asset management expertise.

Building on this opening, Jeonbuk State plans to continue providing the necessary support to help Jeonbuk grow into a global asset management hub.

Yoo Hee-sook, Head of the Corporate Attraction Support Bureau at Jeonbuk State, emphasized, "We warmly welcome the opening of the Jeonju office by DWS Asset Management, a global financial leader that has grown based on deep trust in the Korean market. As global financial capital increasingly focuses on Jeonbuk, the provincial government will serve as a reliable partner so that DWS Asset Management can fully showcase its capabilities and pave the way for mutual growth."
