Kimchi, Heading to the World: The Challenge of Park Yun-kyung, CEO of Steven Food Tech

As classical music played quietly in the Gangnam Gallery Lounge, the familiar yet unfamiliar scent of kimchi passed my nose. It was ‘K-Chi’, a premium kimchi developed by Park Yun-kyung, CEO of Stephen Food Tech.

K-Chi has solved the problem of existing kimchi that its taste changes and odor develops over time. CEO Park developed seven core technologies to control kimchi fermentation to the desired level and succeeded in suppressing overfermentation while maintaining the taste and nutrition of kimchi. Through this, we solved the problem of poor quality caused by long-distance distribution and overseas export of kimchi, and enabled people around the world to enjoy fresh kimchi anytime, anywhere.

CEO Park, who used to be a fashion designer, paid attention to the possibility of kimchi expanding overseas while living abroad, and devoted himself to research and development for four years to solve the problem of overfermentation of kimchi. He has been exploring new possibilities for kimchi through the development of various products such as kimchi ketchup and kimchi juice.

Stephen Food Tech is accelerating its expansion into overseas markets through K.C. It is leading the globalization of K-food by entering large markets and high-end restaurants in various countries such as the United States and Europe. In particular, we are developing various types of processed kimchi products such as kimchi seasoning and kimchi juice to present kimchi that suits the tastes of local people.

Thanks to Stephen Food Tech's efforts, kimchi is now becoming more than just a food, but a food ingredient that is used in various ways on people's tables around the world. It is raising the status of K-food by presenting new possibilities for kimchi through combination with Western foods such as steak and pasta.

CEO Park expressed his ambition to make kimchi a global food by developing a variety of kimchi products that suit the tastes of people around the world while maintaining the essence of kimchi. His challenge is expected to go beyond simply the development of the kimchi industry and open a new chapter that will lead to the globalization of Korean food culture.

Park Yoon-kyung, CEO of Stephen Food Tech, is working to make kimchi a world-class food through scientific research and innovation. His challenge is expected to go beyond simply the development of the kimchi industry and open a new chapter that will lead to the globalization of Korean food culture.
