Seoul, South Korea – The Daesan Foundation, under the leadership of Chairman Shin Chang-jae, has announced its call for applications for the ‘2025 Korean Literature Translation, Research, and Publication Support’ program. This initiative aims to broaden the international presence of Korean literature by supporting its translation, research, and publication in foreign languages. The application period will remain open until May 30th.
This program is designed to facilitate the translation, research, and publication of exemplary Korean literary works, ensuring their distribution and accessibility within various language regions.
Applicants for translation support are required to select a work from the Daesan Literary Award winners or any other Korean literary piece deemed valuable for international introduction, provided it has not yet been introduced or contracted for translation in the target language region. Selected translators will receive up to 16 million KRW, with the exact amount varying based on the language region and the volume of the work.
Research support is available for professors, researchers, students, translators, and research institutions engaged in Korean literature studies overseas.
To apply, interested parties must submit an application form, resume, sample translation manuscript, the original work intended for translation, and a translation/publication plan via the Daesan Foundation's website. The selection results are scheduled for announcement in August.
