Yeoncheon, South Korea – Hwangsangjumin, a local company producing "Joseon Kong Mousse" made from domestically grown soybeans, has reported a significant increase in sales after participating in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) product improvement support program. The program, jointly organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, aims to enhance the online sales capabilities of small businesses.
Hwangsangjumin, a brand aiming to globalize Korean food using domestic agricultural products, has been selling its "Joseon Kong Mousse" made from soybeans grown in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do. The company had been facing challenges in product design, sales, and brand image development due to limited resources. However, by participating in the government-supported program, the company was able to overcome these difficulties.
Through the program, Hwangsangjumin received support for product design, packaging, and detailed product descriptions, enabling them to open a new online store on Naver Smart Store. As a result, the company has seen a remarkable three-fold increase in sales.
"The support we received allowed us to open a new online store on Naver Smart Store and experience a significant increase in sales," said Kim Ji-hye, CEO of Hwangsangjumin. "The renewed product design has also led to a noticeable increase in customer photos, allowing us to feel the change in consumer response firsthand."
Kim added, "We plan to actively pursue online sales using the new product design that was supported by the program."
