Participating youth artists promote the charm of Jeonbuk's arts in Vietnam and Seoul
Creative Gugak Group "Chunghwa" performs in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, and "Salon de Gugak Seonyulmori" takes the stage at Cheong Wa Dae Sarangchae

The Jeollabuk-do Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Baek Ok-sun, hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) announced that the creative Gugak group "Chunghwa," which participated in the "Youth Culture and Arts Delivery Service" (hereinafter referred to as "Youth Arts Quick") project, performed in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, from October 3 to 4, and "Salon de Gugak Seonyulmori" performed at Cheong Wa Dae Sarangchae in Seoul on October 21, successfully promoting the charm of Jeonbuk's arts.

"Youth Arts Quick" is a project designed to provide youth artists with performance opportunities to establish a foundation for continuous activities, while allowing citizens to enjoy culture and arts close to their daily lives. This year, 14 teams are participating to hold a total of 42 performances visiting companies and institutions across the province through the end of the year.

The Foundation is cooperating with culture and arts-related organizations to connect participating teams so that they can step onto new stages beyond provincial performances.

The Charm of Our Gugak Delivered on the Vietnamese Stage Creative Gugak Group "Chunghwa" took the stage at the "2026 Phu Quoc Korea-Vietnam Culture Day" held in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, from October 3 to 4.

Hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE), this event was promoted as part of the "2026 Touring K-Arts" project, attracting some 10,000 visitors during the event period.

"Chunghwa" presented performances based on traditional Korean music, and reinterpreted the traditional Vietnamese folk song "Trống cơm" into Gugak, garnering enthusiastic responses from local audiences.

Cho Hun-hwa, representative of Chunghwa, stated, "It was a stage where we could introduce Gugak to overseas audiences while confirming the potential for international cultural exchange," adding, "Based on this experience, I want to share our music on even more overseas stages."

Expanding the Activity Scope of Youth Artists from the Region to Seoul "Salon de Gugak Seonyulmori" held a performance titled "Culture-filled Sarangchae - Brilliant Invitation" at Cheong Wa Dae Sarangchae in Seoul on October 21.

At this event hosted by the Regional Culture and Arts Promotion Committee, Seonyulmori presented creative songs utilizing the Jeonbuk dialect, expressing the region's unique linguistic flavor and sentiment through music.

The performance was prepared in connection with the "Octa-Brilliant - K-Filled Regions" exhibition, which introduces the region's cultural resources and stories, and was attended by some 50 audience members.

Kim Hye-ryun, representative of Seonyulmori, stated, "As artists representing Jeonbuk meeting audiences in Seoul, we prepared an enjoyable and exciting stage," adding, "We were delighted to be able to convey the region's color and charm through music."

Experience Gained in the Region Leads to Wider Stages Both performances are examples of youth artists expanding their activity spheres overseas and to Seoul based on the experience gained from performances within the province. This aligns with the purpose of the "Youth Arts Quick" project, which aims to broaden performance opportunities for youth artists and support their continuous artistic activities.

Hong Seung-gwang, Head of the Culture and Arts Division, said, "The time spent steadily meeting audiences on small stages close to citizens has become the driving force for youth artists to advance to larger stages," and added, "We will expand support that leads to post-performance opportunities so that the Youth Arts Quick project can serve as a starting point and a foundation for youth artists to continue growing."
