Chayanta, Bolivia – The municipality of Chayanta unveiled a 12-meter-tall monument dedicated to the traditional Tinku festival in the community of Aymaya on Friday. The monument features two fiberglass statues of individuals dressed in traditional Tinku attire, engaged in a symbolic fight. The structure, commissioned by the Chayanta Mayor's Office, cost 308,000 Bolivian bolivianos.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by local authorities and musical groups. However, the presence of Minister of Government Eduardo Del Castillo sparked protests from the Ayllus of Northern Potosí, who accuse the government of political interference and dividing their organizations. The Ayllus Federation declared a ban on government authorities entering the region.

According to Radio Pío XII, Minister Del Castillo left the region and did not participate in the ceremony following the Ayllus' pronouncement. Organizers confirmed that the government official and his entourage had departed from Northern Potosí.
