The "2025 Vietnam K Medical Device Exhibition (K Med Expo & Hanoi Int’l Meditech Show)," which serves as a bridgehead for the Korean medical device industry's entry into the ASEAN market, will be successfully held at the I.C.E Exhibition Center in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, from July 10th to 12th. Co-hosted by the Korea Medical Devices Industrial Cooperative Association (KMDI, Chairman Kim Young-min) and the exhibition specialist KINTEX (CEO Lee Jae-yul), this year marks the third edition of the exhibition. The fact that it is being held for the first time in Hanoi, Vietnam's political and administrative hub, significantly raises expectations for Korean medical device companies to penetrate the local market.

The exhibition will feature approximately 120 booths and is expected to attract over 3,000 professional visitors, including Vietnamese hospital officials, medical specialists, and large distribution network buyers. This demonstrates K Med Expo's firm establishment as a leading overseas exhibition for the entry of Korean medical devices into the ASEAN market. Vietnam's rapidly growing economy, coupled with an aging population and increasing health awareness, has led to a surge in demand for healthcare services. Furthermore, Vietnam relies on imports for over 90% of its medical device needs, making it a highly attractive market for Korean companies.

Innovative K-Medical Technology Captivates the Vietnamese Market

This exhibition will showcase a wide array of leading Korean products and innovative medical technologies, including diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices, aesthetic medical devices, and smart healthcare products. The participating companies highlight the broad technological capabilities of the Korean medical device industry. PI-ARC Corporation will showcase innovations in rehabilitation and intractable disease treatment through its hyperbaric oxygen therapy devices, while Medical Standard will present efficient medical information management solutions as a leader in Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).

Additionally, DK Medical Systems will offer accurate and reliable diagnostic solutions with its diagnostic X-ray equipment, and AIMEDIC will present the possibilities of future medicine with AI deep learning and simulation-based customized treatment solutions. H Robotics will introduce a new paradigm in patient-specific rehabilitation treatment through medical robots and data-driven rehabilitation solutions, and Orthotech boasts outstanding technological prowess in orthopedic implants. Furthermore, BIMWORKS will lead the digital transformation in the medical field through medical imaging and interactive artificial intelligence research, with various other Korean medical device companies participating to demonstrate the excellence of Korean medical technology.

Full Support from Local Governments and Industrial Institutions Expected to Create Synergy

Beyond individual company participation, this exhibition is noteworthy as major local governments and industrial institutions such as Gyeonggi-do Provincial Government, Seongnam City Hall, Daegu Gyeongbuk Medical Cluster, G-Valley Medical Device Development Support Center, and Daegu Catholic University Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation will form group pavilions to showcase the competitiveness of Korean medical devices. This demonstrates that the Korean medical device industry is supported at a national level for overseas market entry, beyond specific companies, and is expected to bring even greater synergy to participating companies.

Rich Concurrent Events Provide Practical Business Opportunities

Throughout the exhibition, various concurrent events will be held to provide practical business opportunities for both participating companies and visitors. The ‘Korea-Vietnam Biomedical Diagnosis Forum,’ co-hosted by Daegu Gyeongbuk Medical Cluster and the Korean Society of Circulatory Bioengineering, will bring together hospital officials from both countries to foster academic exchange and industrial business synergy. This forum will go beyond simply exhibiting products, serving as a platform for seeking practical cooperation methods through exchanges between medical professionals from both nations.

In addition, various business support programs will be operated, including product presentation sessions by participating companies organized by KMDI, export consulting and health insurance seminars by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA), and export consultations organized by KOTRA. These programs are expected to significantly contribute to participating companies gaining a better understanding of the Vietnamese market, building networks with local buyers, and generating tangible export results. In particular, the health insurance seminar will help deepen understanding of the Vietnamese medical insurance system and provide crucial information for Korean medical device companies to formulate their market entry strategies for Vietnam.

Kim Young-min, Chairman of KMDI, emphasized, "Vietnam is a key market in ASEAN, relying on imports for over 90% of its medical device demand, and it presents a golden opportunity for Korean companies to quickly gain market share based on their technological prowess and quality competitiveness." He added, "The association will concentrate all its efforts through this exhibition to provide one-stop support for participating companies, from product promotion and export consultations to buyer matching," expressing a strong commitment to the successful entry of Korean medical device companies into the Vietnamese market.

The 2025 K Med Expo is expected to be a crucial stepping stone in proving the global competitiveness of the Korean medical device industry and accelerating its entry into not only the Vietnamese market but also the entire ASEAN region.
