Gyeongsangbuk-do announced that it has signed four technology transfer agreements between universities and companies, laying the foundation for outstanding research technologies to lead into commercialization and technology startups.
On the 22nd, during the opening ceremony of the "2026 National Technology Business Exhibition (K-TECH CONNECT)" held at the Hilton Hotel in Gyeongju, the province signed a total of four technology transfer agreements: Yonsei University Health System and NEST Co., Ltd. for dementia medical technology; National Kumoh Institute of Technology and K-Will Tech Co., Ltd. for secondary battery power saving technology; Changwon National University and MIB Co., Ltd. for semiconductor equipment technology; and Sookmyung Women's University and Red Bloom Co., Ltd. for health food product technology.
Hosted by the province and centered around the Gyeongbuk Technopark, the event took place over two days from the 22nd to the 23rd, with related organizations including domestic universities and research institutes participating. Approximately 300 people, including domestic and foreign technology suppliers, companies, and investment institutions, took part.
The event featured one-on-one technology consultation sessions for promising commercialization technologies, a technology exhibition, global business development and corporate growth strategy seminars, and presentations on future promising technologies. Information on investment linkage and technology commercialization support was also shared, and follow-up cooperation tasks were discovered.

The province is strengthening support from technology matching to business connection so that excellent research and development achievements lead to actual commercialization and corporate growth in industrial fields. It plans to strengthen the linkage between technology commercialization and startups to expand the foundation where promising technologies can develop into startup items and startup companies can grow.
Focusing on national strategic industries such as secondary batteries, artificial intelligence, and advanced materials, it will also build a Gyeongbuk-style global technology commercialization ecosystem by strengthening technology commercialization foundations and supporting international cooperation and overseas market expansion.
Lee Kyung-gon, Director of the Economic and Trade Bureau of Gyeongsangbuk-do, stated, "It is important to create an environment where outstanding technologies lead to startups, and companies can take root and grow in the region," adding, "We will connect the excellent technologies of universities and research institutions with regional industrial bases through startups, investment, and commercialization to make Gyeongbuk a hub for technology startups and a representative startup city in South Korea where companies seek out and grow."
