Samsung Electronics' latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (SE), has once again sold out almost instantly during its second online sales round.
According to Samsung Electronics on November 4th, the Z Fold SE, which was launched on Samsung.com at 10 AM, sold out all available units within just 5 minutes. Similarly, all units allocated to the three major mobile carriers' online stores were also sold out within the same timeframe.
The Z Fold SE's initial release on October 25th also saw a rapid sell-out within 10 minutes. Due to limited stock, the product was not made available on the online stores of mobile carriers at that time.
Industry experts speculate that a larger portion of the Z Fold SE stock was allocated to the three major mobile carriers for this second sales round, given that they did not receive any units during the initial launch. Consumers who purchased the Z Fold SE during the first sales round are expected to receive their devices this week, while those who purchased during the second round will begin receiving their devices from November 8th.
The Z Fold SE is the thinnest and lightest Galaxy Z Fold device to date. With a folded thickness of 10.6mm and a weight of 236g, it is 1.5mm thinner and 3g lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which was released in July. The device is priced at 2,789,600 won.
