LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Demonstrations against the Trump administration have once again taken place on the steps of the Arkansas State Capitol. The "Hands Off!" protests, which were originally scheduled to occur nationwide last Saturday, were postponed due to severe weather and were held this Saturday instead.   

Protesters voiced their concerns regarding widespread federal budget cuts, LGBTQ rights, and what they described as "general government overreach."

One participant strongly criticized, "Anyone asking to be the President of the United States should be protecting and defending this nation, not systematically and intentionally destroying it."

The demonstrators urged lawmakers to prioritize the interests of the people over those of the president.

Arkansas Protest an Extension of National 'Hands Off!' Demonstrations... Growing Dissatisfaction with Overall Trump Administration Policies

The protest at the Arkansas State Capitol is an extension of the nationwide "Hands Off!" demonstrations that took place simultaneously in over 1,200 cities across all 50 states, revealing widespread discontent with the Trump administration's overall policies. In particular, concerns are growing that federal budget cuts will hinder access to public services such as health care, science, social security, and education, and could exacerbate social inequality.   

Furthermore, criticism is intensifying regarding the Trump administration's anti-immigration policies and attempts to curtail LGBTQ rights. Protesters strongly opposed policies that promote discrimination and hatred against immigrants and roll back the rights of sexual minorities, demanding equal rights for all citizens.
