Cheonan City announced on the 7th that it has successfully completed the construction of an 800-meter waterfront promenade around Maeju Reservoir in Seonghwan-eup, investing a total project cost of 1 billion KRW. This project, aimed at providing citizens with a pleasant and beautiful leisure space, has been promoted since 2023 through close consultation with Namseoul University and the Korea Rural Community Corporation.
The newly created waterfront promenade has transformed the previously narrow sidewalk into a spacious deck walkway. Notably, a photo zone has been established with the beautiful cherry blossoms as a backdrop, raising expectations among visitors. Additionally, rest areas have been created along the promenade, allowing citizens to enjoy leisurely moments in nature.
Yoon Seok-hoon, Head of Cheonan City's Parks and Green Space Business Headquarters, stated, "Through the creation of this Maeju Reservoir waterfront promenade, we hope that citizens can create precious memories while walking along the fully bloomed cherry blossom path and fully enjoy the beautiful nature."
Maeju Reservoir is known as a resting place boasting beautiful natural scenery for Cheonan citizens, and it is expected that the newly constructed waterfront promenade will attract even more visitors during the cherry blossom season. Cheonan City plans to continuously strive to expand green spaces within the city to improve the quality of life for its citizens.
