Montevideo, Uruguay – Tres Cruces, a prominent landmark at the intersection of Bulevar Artigas and Ferrer Serra, is kicking off a new chapter in its artistic endeavors this month. The inaugural design selected from the "Impactá con tu arte" (Impact with Your Art) contest marks the beginning of this phase, with a thematic focus on sustainability and the environment.

Dandra Álvarez, the First Selected Artist

Artist Dandra Álvarez has been chosen to grace the landmark with her innovative and environmentally conscious design. Her proposal seamlessly blends marine and terrestrial elements, conveying a powerful message about the imperative to preserve both ecosystems and ensure their sustainability.

Since its grand opening in March 2020, the Tres Cruces landmark has become a beacon of urban creativity. The space has hosted a diverse array of artistic interventions, tackling various themes and unique styles. The "Impactá con tu arte" contest aims to foster awareness of critical issues such as biodiversity, carbon footprint, community engagement, and circular economy.

Álvarez's artwork will adorn the letters of "YoAmoUy" during the early days of January and will remain on display throughout the month. As a token of appreciation, the artist will receive a $10,000 gift certificate. Furthermore, the creative process behind her piece will be documented and shared on social media, amplifying her message and connecting with Tres Cruces' digital community.

Commitment to Sustainability

Dandra Álvarez's intervention not only aligns with the contest objectives but also reinforces Tres Cruces' dedication to sustainability. Her work inspires the community to reflect and take action to safeguard natural resources and promote sustainable development.

This cycle will continue to evolve month after month, with new artists selected to imprint their vision on the landmark, solidifying it as a platform for artistic expression and environmental consciousness.
