Chungnam Province held the "2026 Junior Social Welfare Official Capacity Building Training" from October 22 to 23 at Shilla Stay Cheonan, bringing together about 100 junior social welfare officials from across the province.
Co-hosted by the province and the Chungnam Social Welfare Administration Association, the training was designed to strengthen the practical competencies of junior social welfare officials, share diverse field experiences and concerns, and build strong bonds among peers through communication and cooperation.
On the first day, practical-centered special lectures were held—including "How Social Welfare Officials Should Work" and "Multicultural Families Encountered in the Field"—alongside a sound therapy program. Team-building activities followed, giving participants a chance to relieve work stress and foster communication and harmony with colleagues beyond regional and organizational boundaries.
On the second day, educational sessions aimed at deepening understanding and expertise in welfare administration are scheduled, such as "Korea's Welfare Read Through Numbers" and "Welfare Officials, Public Activists Discovering the Power of People."
Participants are set to share local welfare issues through city- and county-specific discussions centered on policies related to integrated care and age-friendly cities, while exploring field-oriented practical measures to respond to the changing welfare environment.
"Welfare is the warmth of administration, and social welfare officials are the ones who deliver that warmth closest to the lives of our residents," said Lim Eun-young, Head of the Integrated Care Welfare Division. "I hope this training serves as a precious opportunity for junior officials to enhance their expertise, communicate with one another, grow together, and realize warm welfare administration."
Shim Yoon-mu, President of the Chungnam Social Welfare Administration Association, stated, "Social welfare administration goes beyond simply delivering systems; it is about understanding people's hearts and adding warmth to administration. We will continue to listen to our members' voices and strive to foster an organizational culture of mutual communication and shared growth."
Meanwhile, the Chungnam Social Welfare Administration Association is an organization comprising about 2,000 social welfare officials working in the provincial government and cities and counties. It strives to advance Chungnam’s welfare administration through the promotion of members' rights and interests, enhancement of expertise, and mutual exchange and cooperation.
