BTS to Paint Las Vegas Red: Global Icons Announce 'The City' Fan Event for 'ARIRANG' World Tour

LAS VEGAS — The "Entertainment Capital of the World" is bracing for a crimson takeover. BIGHIT MUSIC announced on May 8th that K-pop juggernauts BTS will launch "BTS THE CITY ARIRANG – Las Vegas," a massive city-wide fan experience running from May 20 to 31. The event is designed to coincide with the group’s highly anticipated "ARIRANG" World Tour stops at Allegiant Stadium.

A Crimson Transformation
The cornerstone of this year's "The City" project is the visual transformation of the iconic Las Vegas Strip. On May 23, the opening night of the concert series, the Strip’s major landmarks and commercial districts will be bathed in crimson red lighting.

Red is the signature "key color" of BTS's fifth studio album, ARIRANG, which was released earlier this spring. The color choice is a nod to traditional Korean aesthetics blended with modern intensity, mirroring the album's theme of heritage and rebirth. To further heighten the atmosphere, the MGM Grand Hotel will host a synchronized firework display on the same evening, turning the desert sky into a celebratory canvas for the "ARMY" (the group’s global fanbase).

What is 'The City' Project?
"The City" is an innovative "urban concert play park" concept pioneered by HYBE. It aims to transform an entire host city into an immersive festival ground where fans can experience the artists' music, message, and lifestyle beyond the stadium walls.

Historical Context: BTS first introduced this concept in Las Vegas in 2022 during their "Permission to Dance on Stage" tour, which saw "Borahaegas" (a portmanteau of Borahae and Vegas) turn the city purple.
Expanded Scope: The 2026 iteration includes monorail wraps, themed hotel rooms across major resorts, exclusive pop-up stores, and after-parties where fans can celebrate the group's discography late into the night.

The 'ARIRANG' World Tour Schedule
The Las Vegas leg of the tour will take place at Allegiant Stadium on the following dates:

May 23–24 (Saturday & Sunday)
May 27–28 (Wednesday & Thursday)

This four-day residency is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of international visitors, providing a significant boost to the local economy. According to tourism experts, the "BTS effect" often rivals major sporting events like the Super Bowl in terms of hotel occupancy and retail spending.

A Symbolic Return
The album and tour title, ARIRANG, holds deep cultural significance, referring to Korea’s most famous folk song. This tour marks the first time the full seven-member lineup—RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—has performed together in the United States following their successful completion of mandatory military service.

"We wanted to create a space where the city itself becomes a stage," a BIGHIT MUSIC representative stated. "Through 'The City,' we hope fans can feel the soul of the ARIRANG album throughout every corner of Las Vegas."
As the group continues to dominate the Billboard 200, their return to Las Vegas solidifies their status as the preeminent live act in global music. For two weeks in May, the "City of Lights" will officially become the "City of BTS."
