Cheonan, South Korea – The Seobuk-gu Public Health Center in Cheonan City, led by Director Lee Hyun-ki, recently conducted a joint public-private campaign on the designated no-smoking street. This initiative aims to address the persistent issue of smoking-related complaints in the area.

Despite the designation of the SDI Northwest Gate to SDC South Gate in Seongseong-dong as a no-smoking street in 2022, the health center has continued to receive numerous complaints about smoking in the area. In response, a collaborative campaign was organized, featuring participation from Samsung SDI, Samsung Display, Samsung Electronics, and Samsung C&T. The campaign focused on promoting the no-smoking street and the smoking cessation clinic.

The health center plans to prioritize areas with frequent smoking complaints within the no-smoking zones and conduct intensive crackdowns on smoking activities. Special inspections will also be carried out to ensure compliance.

Director Lee Hyun-ki emphasized, "We will do our utmost to prevent the harm of secondhand smoke through active promotion and guidance inspections. We will strive to make Cheonan a smoke-free, healthy city."

This initiative reflects Cheonan City's commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier environment for its residents by enforcing no-smoking regulations and providing support for those looking to quit smoking.
