Cheonan City Seeks Public Input on Shared Electric Scooter Usage

Cheonan City has announced that it will conduct an online survey to gather diverse public opinions on the use of shared electric scooters and incorporate them into city policies. The survey, open to all Cheonan citizens aged 14 and above, will run until March 31st.

Citizens can participate in the survey easily via PC or mobile through "Dasi Cheonan," the city's online public opinion platform. The survey will focus on various aspects of shared electric scooter usage, including user experience, inconveniences encountered, perceived risks and issues, and suggestions for improving pedestrian safety.

Based on the survey results, the city plans to establish a safe usage culture for shared electric scooters and develop systematic management measures, aiming to create a safe and orderly transportation environment for both riders and pedestrians.

In January, Cheonan City established a comprehensive safety plan to promote the safe use of personal mobility devices (PMs) like electric scooters. The city plans to analyze the effectiveness of the plan by May and consider implementing additional measures.

"With the recent surge in electric scooter usage, safety concerns and pedestrian right-of-way issues have consistently arisen," said Cheonan Mayor Park Sang-don. "We aim to identify the inconveniences and risks experienced by our citizens and develop practical solutions."
