Cheonan City Officials Launch Campaign to Promote Turn Signal Use

Cheonan City officials have taken the initiative to promote the use of turn signals in an effort to reduce traffic accidents and foster a culture of considerate driving. The city announced on March 21st that its officials will be participating in a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of using turn signals.

As part of the campaign, city officials will affix stickers to their personal and official vehicles that read "Left and right blinkers are key to traffic safety." The initiative aims to address the issue of turn signal misuse, which is a major cause of traffic accidents, and to encourage drivers to adopt proper traffic etiquette.

In addition to the sticker campaign, Cheonan City plans to launch a series of other traffic safety initiatives, including campaigns to discourage jaywalking, promote compliance with pedestrian signals, and encourage the use of seat belts.

"Small practices can lead to big changes," said Mayor Park Sang-don. "All public officials in Cheonan City will take the lead in promoting a culture of traffic safety and encouraging safe driving among citizens."

The use of turn signals is a legal requirement under the Road Traffic Act. Drivers are required to signal their intentions 30 meters before turning, changing lanes, or making other maneuvers. Failure to do so can result in a fine of 30,000 won.
