Paraguay Educa has unveiled its innovative educational programming game, "Las aventuras de Capi y Pajarito" (The Adventures of Capi and Pajarito), aimed at strengthening students' logical and sequential thinking skills. This project is a response to the educational challenges currently facing Paraguay.

The game encourages children and adolescents to immerse themselves in an adventure alongside the protagonist Capi and his inseparable friend, Pajarito. Through various levels and progressive challenges, players learn the basics of programming in a fun and interactive way. The intuitive and engaging design helps users develop key competencies such as logical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking – essential skills in an increasingly digital world.

"The Adventures of Capi and Pajarito," a free and safe educational tool, aims to build trust between parents and teachers and encourages its use both at home and in the classroom. Paraguay Educa, an organization committed to education and technological advancement, emphasizes the importance of providing access to innovative resources that promote meaningful learning from an early age.

Cecilia Rojas, Program and Project Manager at Paraguay Educa, stated, "At Paraguay Educa, we are dedicated to promoting the responsible use of technology for the advancement of education in our country. We are aware of the significant challenges in national math and science achievement revealed by the PISA 2022 report. Through this initiative, we aim to address these challenges in a fun way by encouraging the development of students' logical, critical, and creative thinking skills through a simple and accessible game."

The launch of this game also aims to build an engaging community around programming learning and to encourage teachers and school administrators to integrate this tool into their classes as an effective and dynamic educational resource.

More detailed information about "The Adventures of Capi and Pajarito" and access to the game are available on the website www.portalmeta.org.py. The game can also be accessed through the Paraguayan Ministry of Education's educational portal, Paraguay Aprende, at https://demos.mec.gov.py/demo_aprendizaje/login.

Paraguay's Educational Situation and the Importance of Programming Education

Paraguay faces several challenges in the education sector. According to the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) 2022 report, the math and science achievement of Paraguayan students is below the international average. This is an area that urgently needs improvement to strengthen national competitiveness and foster future talent.

In this context, educational games like "The Adventures of Capi and Pajarito" can be an effective tool to spark students' interest in learning and encourage active participation. Programming education, in particular, plays a crucial role in developing logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity, which are considered essential competencies for the 21st century.

Effectiveness of Educational Games and Features of "The Adventures of Capi and Pajarito"

Educational games contribute to enhancing students' learning outcomes by delivering learning content in a fun and engaging way. The characteristics of games include:

Stimulating Interest and Motivation: Game elements (rewards, competition, challenges, etc.) generate students' interest and motivation in learning, leading to voluntary participation.
Active Learning: Students actively participate in learning by directly manipulating and making decisions within the game.
Repetitive Learning and Feedback: Games provide opportunities for repetitive practice and offer immediate feedback, helping students effectively acquire learning content.
Support for Diverse Learning Styles: Utilizing various senses such as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic, maximizing the learning effect.
"The Adventures of Capi and Pajarito" builds on these advantages of educational games and has the following features:

Intuitive and Easy Interface: Designed to be easily accessible and understandable for students of all ages.
Gradual Difficulty Adjustment: Provides a step-by-step learning system so that beginners to advanced learners can learn the basics of programming at their own pace.
Engaging Story and Characters: Enhances learning immersion through interesting stories and unique characters.
Learning Core Programming Concepts: Structured to naturally teach fundamental programming concepts such as sequence, repetition, and conditional statements.
Free and Safe Use: Provided free of charge and in a safe environment for students and parents.
The launch of "The Adventures of Capi and Pajarito" by Paraguay Educa is considered an important step towards educational innovation in Paraguay. It is expected that this game will spark more students' interest in programming and effectively develop the core competencies needed for the future society. The Paraguayan Ministry of Education, as well as schools and families, will need to actively engage with and utilize this innovative educational tool.
