San Salvador, El Salvador – The Ministry of Housing of El Salvador has officially granted property titles to families residing in the San Felipe 4 community of Ilopango and the Milagro de Dios community in San Martín, located in eastern San Salvador. This significant act of social investment, which totaled $30,600, was detailed by Minister of Housing Michelle Sol. She further explained that the total recovery benefiting the residents of these areas amounts to $680,000.

The distribution of these titles marks a pivotal moment for 68 families, with 37 from the Milagro de Dios community in San Martín and 31 from San Felipe, Ilopango, now holding legal proof of their homeownership. "We have 37 families from the Milagro de Dios community in San Martín who settled on this land in 2009," stated Minister Sol.

Adding a historical layer to this initiative, Minister Sol highlighted that many of the San Felipe community members had fled their original homes due to the armed conflict in 1990. "They fled their places of origin because of the armed conflict in 1990, and together they bought this land, of which we will now give them their individual deeds. This is the social justice that President Nayib Bukele is seeking, on a national scale, and for which we are working together," she expressed.

In a move towards gender equality, 69% of the property titles were awarded to women, ensuring their secure ownership and empowerment within their communities.

This initiative not only provides legal certainty to these families but also acknowledges their resilience and determination in building their homes and lives. The Ministry of Housing, under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, continues to strive for social justice and equitable distribution of property rights across El Salvador.
