Seoul, South Korea – SR, the operator of the Suseo High Speed Railroad (SRT), announced today that ticket reservations for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday will begin on January 13 and continue through January 16.
The reservation period covers all SRT trains operating from January 24 to February 2. To accommodate a wider range of passengers, priority reservations will be offered to seniors aged 65 and over, people with disabilities, and national veterans on January 13 and 14. General reservations for the public will commence on January 15 and 16.
Passengers who have pre-registered can take advantage of the priority reservation system. Those who have not yet registered can do so by calling 1800-0242. On January 15, reservations will be open for the Gyeongbu, Gyeongjeon, and Donghae lines, while reservations for the Honam and Jeolla lines will be available on January 16.
It is important to note that reserved tickets must be paid for within the designated period. Any remaining seats that are not sold or are canceled will be available for purchase starting at 3 p.m. on January 16, following the same process as regular ticket purchases.
To discourage no-shows and ensure fair access to tickets for all passengers, SR has implemented a revised penalty system for ticket cancellations. Starting with this Lunar New Year reservation period, cancellation fees will increase. For cancellations made up to one day before departure, the fee will be 5% of the ticket price, up from the previous 400 won. The fee will further increase to 10% if canceled within three hours of departure, 20% within three hours of departure, and 30% within 20 minutes of departure.
