BIRMINGHAM – Malaysia's campaign in the men's doubles category at the prestigious All-England Open came to an abrupt end on Thursday as Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani were defeated in the second round. The professional shuttlers succumbed to a straight-sets loss against South Korea's formidable pair, Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae.

The match, lasting a swift 36 minutes, saw the Malaysians struggle to match the pace and precision of their opponents. The final scores read 16-21 and 13-21, reflecting the dominance of the South Korean duo.

This result marks a stark contrast to Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani's triumphant victory over the same South Korean pair in the final of the Indian Open earlier this year, where they clinched the title. However, the All-England stage proved a different challenge.

"They were faster than us, and had a better control of the game," Goh Sze Fei admitted following the match. "We tried to create chances, but they were simply better."

With their All-England journey concluded, the Malaysian pair now shifts their focus to the upcoming Swiss Open. Determined to bounce back, they aim to surpass their previous second-round finish at the tournament and demonstrate their true potential on the international stage.
