Attracted 11,000+ visitors to Chungnam over 4 weeks through OTA special exhibitions and the "Chungnam 7-Luck Myeongdang Journey Challenge"

The Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation (Acting President Lee Han-soo) announced that the tourism campaign "Chungnam Travel Festa 2026," launched on September 1st for the "2025-2026 Visit Chungnam Year," has surpassed 11,000 cumulative visitors and participants in just four weeks.

The campaign has achieved tangible results in attracting tourists, drawing approximately 8,500 visitors through Online Travel Agency (OTA) linked accommodation and leisure products, and about 2,600 participants through the "Chungnam 7-Luck Myeongdang Journey Challenge."

The integrated OTA special exhibition for the western inland region of Chungnam, conducted via Good Choice (Yeogieottae) and MyRealTrip, attracted about 7,500 tourists through accommodation products. In addition, leisure product users reached about 1,000, leading to a stay-type tourism demand that combines lodging and experiences.

Offline, the foundation is operating a visit-inducing sticker map challenge and recommended course guides to draw tourists to local tourism sites. It has sequentially connected major events: starting with ▲ the Cheonan K-Culture Expo in week 1, followed by ▲ the Gongju Oh My God Junggoje Festival and Cheongyang Chili Pepper & Goji Berry Festival in week 2, ▲ the Nonsan Korean Confucianism Culture Festival in week 3, and planning to connect ▲ the Gyeryong Military Culture Festival and Cheonan Heungtaryung Dance Festival in week 4.

The "Chungnam 7-Luck Myeongdang Journey Challenge," linked with the BlackYak platform, has drawn about 2,600 participants since its launch on the 9th. As hikers from across the country visit and authenticate 7 auspicious locations (Myeongdang) in Chungnam—including Seosan, Gyeryong, Yesan, Gongju, and Boryeong—along with Gabsa Valley and Gaya Valley, visit-based tourism exploring Chungnam's nature and tourism resources continues to grow.

In addition, the foundation is continuously pursuing western inland gourmet tours, 4-color theme tours, pilgrimage paths (Seongji Hyeyeum-gil), and attracting incentive tourists through Chungcheong cruise tours. By connecting Chungnam's tourism contents with accommodation, leisure, gastronomy, festivals, nature, and historical-cultural experiences, the foundation aims to expand stay-type and networked tourism and foster a "Chungnam people want to visit."

□ Choi Dong-seok, Head of the Tourism Business Division at the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation, stated, "Chungnam Travel Festa 2026 focuses not simply on promoting Chungnam, but on actually connecting it to reservations, visits, and stays through experiences. We will continue to link local festivals, tourist attractions, and travel products to ensure that tourists' footsteps continue to reach every corner of Chungnam."
