Cupertino, CA — Apple has reportedly decided to postpone the launch of the successor to the iPhone Air model following disappointing sales performance, according to a report from the IT and AI publication The Information.

Citing informed sources, the report states that Apple has notified engineers and suppliers of the cancellation of the original launch schedule for the next iPhone Air, without providing a new release date.

Consequently, it is anticipated that next year’s fall lineup will primarily feature the iPhone 18 series and the long-awaited foldable iPhone model.

The current iPhone Air, known for its slim profile, compromised certain features—specifically camera performance—to achieve its notably thin design. According to The Information, this trade-off contributed to the lower-than-expected sales figures.

In a significant operational shift, major iPhone manufacturer Foxconn has reportedly dismantled all but 1.5 production lines dedicated to the iPhone Air and is expected to completely halt all production by the end of this month.

Similarly, another key production partner for the iPhone Air, Luxshare, concluded its manufacturing operations for the device at the end of October.

This starkly contrasts with the robust production schedules for Apple’s more popular models, such as the iPhone 17 series, for which both Foxconn and Luxshare are maintaining dozens of active production lines.
