The Sejong Vehicle Registration Office (Head Hwang Mi-ra) announced that starting October 1, it will distribute a "Foreigner Vehicle Registration and Management Guidebook" and launch a QR code service providing major vehicle registration petition forms in 8 languages.

The guidebook contains easy-to-understand information necessary for every stage, from vehicle purchase to registration, management, and sales.

Key contents include:

Smart Vehicle Purchase: Preparation for purchase, registration procedures after purchasing a new car.
Smart Vehicle Management: Comprehensive vehicle inspection, compulsory insurance, taxes and fines incurred while owning a vehicle, and issuance or reissuance of civil petition documents.
Smart Vehicle Sales: Cases where transfer registration is required, and points to note during transfer registration.
The guidebook is available at the Sejong Vehicle Registration Office in Jochiwon-eup, the vehicle registration office branch inside the civil service room on the 1st floor of Sejong City Hall in Boram-dong, and the Sejong Family Center.

Considering that foreigners often experience communication difficulties during the vehicle registration process, a multilingual civil petition form QR code service was introduced for the first time this year to reduce inconveniences such as form-filling errors and enhance customer convenience.

A total of 6 types of civil petition forms are provided through the QR code service, including application forms for transfer registration, modification registration, issuance of automobile registration certificates, reissuance of vehicle registration cards, reissuance of license plates, and automobile transfer certificates.

These forms are provided in 8 languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Uzbek, Russian, Cambodian (Khmer), and Filipino (Tagalog).

Head Hwang Mi-ra stated, "We prepared this guidebook so that foreign citizens do not experience inconvenience due to language barriers when registering and managing vehicles. Moving forward, we will continue to discover necessary services so that foreign petitioners can use vehicle administrative services more easily and conveniently."
