Sejong Special Self-Governing City (Mayor Jo Sang-ho) announced that it will hold the "I am King Sejong Too! 1 Night 10 Sceneries × Mother-of-pearl Promotional Item Event" from October 1st to November 30th for domestic and foreign tourists residing outside of Sejong City.

This event is a stay-type tourism promotion where visitors who stay at least one night in Sejong and tour its attractions will receive a business card case made with traditional mother-of-pearl craftsmanship.

It is designed to target "bleisure" (business + leisure) tourists, encouraging them to enjoy sightseeing while staying for a night or more, and was organized to commemorate the launch of Sejong City's new tourism promotional items.

The newly released mother-of-pearl business card cases feature Sejong's historical and cultural assets, such as King Sejong and General Kim Jong-seo, as well as its representative landmark, the Ieung Bridge (Ieungdari). They were crafted to encapsulate the unique identity of Sejong as the administrative capital.

To enhance the completeness of the items, image use was coordinated with the King Sejong Memorial Society for the King Sejong design, and with the Korea University Museum for the Yayeonsajundo design depicting an anecdote of General Kim Jong-seo.

Tourists wishing to participate must first stay at least one night at a registered and reported accommodation facility in Sejong City, and visit two or more of the 10 designated tourist attractions.

The designated tourist attractions are: ▲Sejong Lake Park (Sejong-dong) ▲National Sejong Arboretum (Sejong-dong) ▲Ieung Bridge (Sejong-dong) ▲Bear Tree Park (Jeondong-myeon) ▲Sejong Central Park (Sejong-dong) ▲National Sejong Library (Eojin-dong) ▲Presidential Archives (Eojin-dong) ▲Government Complex Sejong Rooftop Garden (Eojin-dong) ▲Gobok Natural Park (Yeonseo-myeon) ▲Kim Jong-seo Historical Theme Park (Janggun-myeon).

For visit verification, participants can take a creative photo of their back with the tourist attraction in the background. Solo travelers can verify their visit by taking a photo that includes their hand.

To complete the application, participants must submit the taken photos and the accommodation receipt via a Naver Form and respond to a tourism survey. After that, they can receive the mother-of-pearl business card case by showing their identification (passport for foreigners) and application details at the distribution location.

The distribution location is the 1st floor of the Garden Shop at the National Sejong Arboretum (☎044-251-0001), and items can be picked up during operating hours.

Participants can choose one of three designs for the mother-of-pearl business card case: King Sejong, Yayeonsajundo, or Ieung Bridge.

The quantity is limited to 200 in October and 100 in November, totaling 300. If the monthly quantity is exhausted, applications will close for that month and will reopen on the 1st of the following month.

If the desired design is out of stock, one of the remaining designs will be provided. The event will end early if all items, including the November allocation, are completely exhausted.

However, if a participant provides a false residence or submits a photo synthesized or edited using artificial intelligence (AI), the provision will be canceled.

Namgung Ho, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, stated, "We will continue to develop stay-type tourism content so that people visiting Sejong for a business trip or a short visit can stay an extra day and feel the charm of Sejong."

Meanwhile, tourists visiting Sejong without a vehicle can conveniently explore many of the event's designated attractions, such as the National Sejong Arboretum, Ieung Bridge, and the Government Complex Sejong Rooftop Garden, by using the Sejong City Tour.
