Checking preparation status by sector ahead of the October 1 opening

Cheonan City held an on-site inspection briefing session around the Cheonan Stadium area on the 29th for the successful hosting of the "Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2026."

Ahead of the opening on October 1, the briefing was attended by about 130 people, including Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo, senior public officials, and representatives from the Cheonan City Corporation and the Cheonan Foundation for Arts and Culture.

The briefing began at the indoor tennis court's special stage with an overall report on festival operations, followed by reports on preparation status by sector—such as safety, traffic, medical services, and crackdowns on illegal activities—after which participants directly inspected major festival facilities.

On-site, participants comprehensively reviewed the progress of each sector, including the festival operation plan, venue facility layout, street dance parade operation plan, safety management and traffic measures, and the operation of medical teams.

Subsequently, the participants moved to the festival site to examine key convenience and subsidiary facilities, such as the food market, restroom and cleaning management, multi-use container return booths, small and medium-sized enterprise product promotion and sales pavilions, and agricultural and specialty product experience booths.

In particular, they intensively checked safety routes for anticipated crowd congestion, traffic control measures around the festival venue, and pedestrian safety management along the street dance parade route.

The city plans to supplement any shortcomings identified today before the opening and maintain a cooperative system among departments so that visitors can enjoy the festival safely and comfortably.

Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo requested, "As the Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival is a representative festival visited by many tourists, creating a safe and pleasant environment is of utmost importance. Each department must meticulously check the preparation status until the very end and respond promptly to issues on-site."

The "Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2026" will be held from October 1 to 5 around Cheonan Stadium and Cheonan Samgeori Park, featuring programs such as the International Dance Competition, the National Dance Contest, the Street Dance Parade, and the International Street Dance Championship (CIDC).
