2026 Gyeongsangbuk-do Forest Expo Participated by 22 Cities and Counties, Forest Enterprises, and Institutions

Gyeongsangbuk-do held the "2026 Gyeongsangbuk-do Forest Expo" from the 16th to the 18th around the Pohang Manindang and Lawn Plaza to promote the value and industrial potential of forests.

Marking its 6th anniversary this year, the expo featured exhibition, experience, and performance contents with the participation of 22 cities and counties in the province as well as forest-related enterprises and institutions. The slogan was "Forests That Fill My Life, All-Senses Satisfying Forest Gyeongbuk."

Commemorating the "25th Mountain Day," the event included a commemorative ceremony featuring the Gyeongsangbuk-do Forest Awards presentation, cultural performances, and participatory events. At the opening ceremony, an 8-meter forest product bread-cutting performance was also held.

At the lawn plaza, the "Forest Bread Festa" showcased bakery and confectionery products made from clean forest products such as walnuts and chestnuts, and an exhibition hall recreating a mountain village-style shelter was created. The "Forest Partners Hall" was also operated to promote excellent forest products, processed foods, and forestry machinery from forest enterprises and related organizations in the province.

Inside Manindang, independent promotional booths for the 22 cities and counties were set up, along with a "Forest Playground" where visitors could enjoy log balancing games, stepping stones, and treehouse building. Experience events such as "Forest Four-Cut" and making moss picture frames, as well as a flea market, stamp rally, busking performances, forest balloon party, and terrarium one-day classes, were also held.

Hwang Myung-seok, Administrative Vice Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, said, "The 2026 Gyeongsangbuk-do Forest Expo is a meaningful festival that connects Gyeongbuk's abundant forest resources with the daily lives of residents while presenting a new vision for the forest industry, including mountain village stays and gastronomic culture." He added, "I hope visitors will visit the expo venue filled with autumn ambiance to experience the all-senses healing and make special memories provided by the forests."
