State and Chuncheon City Jointly Operate Promotional Booth for Storm, Flood, and Earthquake Insurance from Oct. 14 to 18

Gangwon State announced that it is jointly operating a promotional booth for the storm, flood, and earthquake insurance with Chuncheon City at the venue of the Chuncheon Makgeuksu Dakgalbi Festival for five days from October 14 to 18, actively encouraging residents to sign up for insurance to prepare for natural disasters.

This promotional campaign was organized to familiarize residents and tourists visiting the regional festival with the storm, flood, and earthquake insurance, helping them protect their livelihoods and living foundations from natural disaster damages through insurance subscription.

In particular, the campaign focuses on delivering easy-to-understand information regarding the government's insurance premium subsidy program and major coverage details to residents who may not join due to a lack of awareness or hesitate because of premium burdens. It aims to raise awareness of the insurance system so people can prepare proactively before facing difficulties in recovery after a disaster occurs.

The storm, flood, and earthquake insurance is a policy insurance that compensates for private property damage caused by unexpected natural disasters and helps victims stabilize their lives. To alleviate the financial burden on subscribers, the government subsidizes a portion of the premium, and eligible targets include houses, agricultural and forestry greenhouses, and commercial shops and factories owned by small business owners.

The State plans to operate this promotional booth beyond a space simply for distributing guide materials; it will serve as a place to resolve questions about insurance subscriptions on-site and understand the importance of disaster preparedness, while connecting prospective subscribers to follow-up consultations to assist with autonomous preparation against natural disasters.

In particular, the promotion is also being conducted targeting festival vendors and small business owners to inform them that shops and factories are also eligible for insurance subscription, guiding them on the need to check coverage details in advance and prepare for potential damage to business facilities caused by natural disasters.

Through the operation of this promotional booth, the State places emphasis on raising awareness that natural disaster preparedness is not something needed only at specific times, but a safe daily practice that should be steadily reviewed in everyday life. It also plans to identify questions raised by residents and utilize them to improve future insurance subscription guides and promotional materials.

Additionally, utilizing opportunities to meet directly with residents through local festivals and other events, the State plans to enhance the accessibility of the insurance system and continue on-site-oriented guidance so that promotions lead to actual interest and subscription.

An official from Gangwon State stated, "The storm, flood, and earthquake insurance is practical preparation to protect our homes and stores against unexpected natural disasters," adding, "We hope that residents visiting the festival will visit the promotional booth, learn about the premium subsidy program and coverage details, and take an interest in protecting their precious living foundations."
