Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – The Vietnam-Canada Business Association (VCBA) has significantly expanded its operational capacity with the inauguration of its Eastern Chapter, marking a pivotal moment in fostering stronger economic and cultural ties between Vietnam and Canada. The launch, announced today, aims to cater to the burgeoning community of Vietnamese and Canadian entrepreneurs in Eastern Canada, addressing their increasing need for networking, collaboration, and community development.

The establishment of the Eastern Chapter follows the successful foundation of the VCBA in Vancouver two years prior and underscores the association's commitment to facilitating bilateral trade and investment. President of the newly formed Eastern Chapter, Chung Vinh, highlighted the distinct economic landscape of the region, emphasizing the critical roles of education, immigration, investment, and logistics alongside traditional trade sectors.

"Eastern Canada presents a unique set of opportunities and challenges," stated Mr. Vinh. "We have witnessed a remarkable growth in the capabilities and expertise of Vietnamese businesses operating here. This chapter will serve as a vital platform to empower them to compete even more effectively in the Canadian market and to connect with their Canadian counterparts."

The VCBA Eastern Chapter has outlined an ambitious agenda focused on three core pillars:

Community Building and Support: Strengthening connections within the Vietnamese community in Eastern Canada and facilitating their integration and growth. This includes initiatives aimed at preserving cultural heritage and fostering a sense of belonging.
International Promotion of Vietnamese Products and Culture: Creating avenues for Vietnamese businesses to showcase their products and for Canadian audiences to experience the rich culture of Vietnam.
Advancing Bilateral Cooperation: Promoting collaboration between Vietnam and Canada across various sectors, including trade, culture, technology, and lifestyle.
A key initiative of the new chapter will be the establishment of the first Vietnamese-owned school in Eastern Canada. This initiative directly addresses the growing number of Vietnamese students pursuing education in Canadian institutions and aims to provide a culturally supportive learning environment.

To achieve its objectives, the VCBA Eastern Chapter plans to implement a range of programs designed to connect Vietnamese businesses in Canada with established Canadian enterprises. These programs will focus on fostering mentorship, facilitating joint ventures, and providing resources for market entry and expansion. The chapter envisions creating a dynamic ecosystem where members can thrive and establish a strong foothold in the Canadian market.

The launch of the Eastern Chapter is timely, given the increasing trade and investment activities between Vietnam and Canada. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), of which both nations are members, has further facilitated economic exchange, creating new opportunities for businesses on both sides.

The Vietnam-Canada Business Association, with its expanded presence, is poised to play a crucial role in capitalizing on these opportunities, fostering a vibrant business environment, and strengthening the bonds between the two nations. The Ottawa launch signals a new era of collaboration and growth for Vietnamese and Canadian entrepreneurs in Eastern Canada and beyond.
