Jeju City, South Korea – Jeju Technopark and the Jeju Technopark branch of the Public Science and Technology Research Workers' Union have signed a joint declaration committing to a collaborative and harmonious workplace. The agreement was signed on [date] at the Jeju Venture Maru meeting room.
Both parties have agreed to establish a fair and predictable system to ensure the sustainable development of the foundation and improve working conditions. They will also work together to prevent unnecessary conflicts and promote operational innovation through a labor-management council.
Furthermore, the two sides have pledged to overcome challenges such as domestic economic stagnation and global economic changes, and to fulfill their social responsibilities as a leading public institution in the region.
Additionally, they have agreed to promptly conclude various disciplinary actions and to cease legal proceedings against each other.
Detailed improvements to the grievance management system, personnel system, and welfare benefits will be discussed further through the labor-management council, which will be established soon. The council will work to finalize a collective agreement.
The Jeju Provincial Government's Department of Innovation Industry and the Anti-Corruption Officer have played a crucial role in facilitating the agreement through several labor-management meetings. The Jeju Provincial Assembly's Agriculture, Fisheries, and Economy Committee has also called for active efforts to restore labor-management relations.
