To ensure the successful operation of the '2025 Korea Science Festival,' scheduled to be held from April 16th, Daejeon City convened a Safety Management Committee meeting on the 2nd in the City Hall's grand conference room to deliberate on the overall safety management plan (draft) for the event.
The meeting was presided over by Daejeon City's Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs, Yoo Deuk-won, and was attended by approximately 30 committee members, including heads of disaster management responsible institutions, related organizations, and private sector experts. They reviewed safety measures across the entire event and held in-depth discussions on safety management measures for local festivals.
Key deliberation topics included: ▲Review of event plans and side event safety ▲Plans for the composition and deployment of safety personnel ▲Management of dense crowds and emergency response measures ▲Fire prevention and disaster control measures, and establishment of an emergency medical system ▲Traffic and communication management measures.
The city plans to share the opinions and supplementary points raised during this meeting with the festival's organizing department, autonomous districts, and related institutions to incorporate them into the safety management plan. Furthermore, a joint on-site inspection will be conducted by the Safety Management Advisory Group and related organizations the day before the festival to finalize the preparation status.
Daejeon City's Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs, Yoo Deuk-won, emphasized, "The most important thing at a festival is the safety of citizens. We will thoroughly prepare in advance to ensure that the science festival is a safe festival."
