A tailored video education platform opens for next-generation creators and filmmakers

The Cheonan Cultural Foundation (CEO Ahn Dong-soon) will host the 'Bichae Youth Video Camp 2025' at the Cheonan City Visual Media Center for four days, from August 5th to 8th. This camp is designed to provide opportunities for young people to express themselves and plan their future in a rapidly changing media environment. It is expected to be a practical educational venue that goes beyond simple skill acquisition, fostering creative thinking, collaborative skills, and career exploration through video media.

Two Tailored Programs to Foster Youth Dreams

'Bichae Youth Video Camp 2025' will operate with two customized courses: a Creator Course and a Film Production Course, considering the interests and career paths of participating youth. Each course is designed with a professional curriculum to enable young people to learn in depth in their desired fields.

The Creator Course is for young people who dream of becoming one-person media creators active on new media platforms like YouTube and TikTok. It imparts practical know-how from content planning, shooting, editing, to channel operation strategies. Keeping pace with rapidly changing media trends, it will cover diverse topics such as short-form content production, understanding live streaming, copyright, and ethics education. In particular, time will be allocated for direct interaction and listening to vivid experiences from current popular creators, which is expected to greatly assist young people in their career exploration.

The Film Production Course provides a systematic film production experience for young people aspiring to enter the film industry as directors, screenwriters, cinematographers, etc. It focuses on hands-on practice covering the entire film production process, including scriptwriting methods, storyboard composition, understanding camera work, lighting and sound design, and post-production like editing and color correction. Participants will undertake team projects with the goal of producing short films, cultivating problem-solving and collaboration skills in an environment similar to actual film sets. Furthermore, independent film directors and current staff members will participate as mentors, offering practical advice and mentoring to the youth.

On-site Expert Mentoring, Practice-Oriented Education

In this camp, video experts actively working in various fields will participate as mentors, providing education based on real production experience to the youth. From the importance of video planning to understanding and utilizing filming equipment, efficient editing techniques, and post-production for high-quality results, the education will be practice-oriented, combining theory and hands-on experience.

Mentors will go beyond simply imparting knowledge; they will act as facilitators, brainstorming and solving difficulties with young people as they discover ideas and bring them to life through video. They will also share information on the latest trends and future prospects of the media industry, helping young people plan their careers with a broad perspective. This mentoring is expected to contribute to young people concretizing their dreams based on a realistic understanding of the media field, rather than vague illusions.

Fostering Creative Thinking and Teamwork, Opportunities for Career Exploration

'Bichae Youth Video Camp 2025' provides practical programs that go beyond simple skill acquisition for young people, allowing them to explore in-depth careers in the media content field and foster creative thinking and teamwork. Through team projects, they will share ideas, divide roles, and create a single outcome, learning the value of cooperation and improving communication skills.

In addition, the works produced by the youth during the camp will be shared and receive feedback during a screening session on the last day. This will not only give young people a sense of accomplishment but also provide an opportunity to gain new inspiration and broaden their perspectives through the works of other participants. Awards will also be given for outstanding works to motivate young people's participation and encourage creative activities.

An official from the Cheonan Cultural Foundation stated, "Through this camp, we will actively support Cheonan youth to grow beyond their interest in the video media field and become next-generation creators and filmmakers with future competencies." They added, "As it is operated free of charge, we hope many young people participate to discover their potential and gain a precious opportunity to cultivate their dreams."

Applications for the camp can be submitted through the Cheonan Cultural Foundation website, and further details can be inquired by contacting the Cheonan Cultural Foundation's Visual Media Team (041-415-0098). The strong passion and creativity of young people who will lead the future media industry are expected to shine at 'Bichae Youth Video Camp 2025.'
