Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture launched the “Common Ground” festival on Wednesday, a celebration of the deep-rooted cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
The festival, which runs until December 31st, is being held at Mega Studio in Boulevard City, Riyadh. It offers a diverse range of cultural experiences, including art exhibitions, musical performances, and literary discussions.
A highlight of the festival was the opening night performance by renowned Iraqi singer-songwriter Kadim Al-Sahir. The event also paid tribute to the late Iraqi writer Kareem Al-Iraqi, whose significant contributions to literature and art were recognized.
In addition to the cultural festivities, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to Al-Ula, a historic city in Saudi Arabia. The two leaders discussed regional issues and further strengthened bilateral relations.
The “Common Ground” festival is a testament to the rich cultural heritage shared by Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and it underscores the two nations’ commitment to fostering understanding and cooperation.
