Gyeongsangnam-do Province has announced the continuation of its 'Gyeongnam Doctor Bus' service in 2025, a program designed to provide free medical check-ups to residents of medically underserved areas. The service, which utilizes a specially equipped bus carrying 14 types of medical equipment, will commence on March 11th in Namhae-gun and will operate until December, covering 28 myeon (township) areas across 14 cities and counties in the province.

The 'Gyeongnam Doctor Bus' will offer specialized medical check-ups in ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and urology, providing essential healthcare services to residents who may have limited access to such facilities. Approximately 50 individuals will receive free check-ups per session.

A team of 11 medical professionals, including doctors (professors) from Gyeongsang National University Hospital, as well as examination personnel, nurses, and administrative staff from Masan Medical Center, will participate in the program.

Check-up services will be available from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, excluding the lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at designated locations in each city and county. Residents of Gyeongsangnam-do can avail themselves of the services by visiting the specified locations during the operating hours.

The 2025 budget for the 'Gyeongnam Doctor Bus' operation is 166 million KRW. In 2024, the program provided free medical check-ups to 1,462 individuals, demonstrating its significant impact on the community.

For further information regarding the 'Gyeongnam Doctor Bus' service, residents can contact the Masan Medical Center Public Health Care Team at 055-249-1619 or their respective city and county public health centers.
