Seoul, South Korea – Johnny Somali, an American YouTuber already under fire for his controversial actions, including kissing the 'Statue of Peace,' has further aggravated public sentiment with his behavior during his trial in South Korea.

Somali, facing charges of obstruction of business and other offenses, arrived an hour late for his court hearing at the Seoul Western District Court on March 7th. He reportedly answered the judge's questions with his hands casually stuffed in his pockets.

Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University expressed his outrage on social media, stating, "Even after his first trial, he made absurd comments to the press, claiming 'Korea is a vassal state of the United States.' It's clear he hasn't learned his lesson, and we need to set a precedent with severe punishment."

Adding to the list of his inappropriate actions, Somali attempted to enter the courtroom wearing a "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) hat, which was prohibited. He then proceeded to make mocking gestures towards an acquaintance in the audience.

"Somali has repeatedly disrespected Korean history, including displaying the Rising Sun flag and insisting on the Japanese claim to Dokdo, calling it 'Takeshima,'" Professor Seo pointed out. "We sincerely hope that the court will deliver a just verdict to prevent any future occurrences of such disrespectful behavior in our country."

The prosecution's charges against Somali include disturbing public order by playing loud music and spilling ramen broth in a convenience store last October. He also allegedly harassed pedestrians with a bag of rotting fish and caused disturbances on public transportation.

Somali's lawyer has admitted to the three charges against him. The case has sparked widespread condemnation in South Korea, with many calling for strict legal action against the YouTuber.
