Korean Appliance Giants Sweep Top Spots in Key Categories

New York, NY – LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics have once again demonstrated their dominance in the U.S. home appliance market, securing top rankings in Consumer Reports' highly anticipated "Best Refrigerators of 2025" and "Best Washer and Dryer Sets" evaluations.

In the refrigerator category, LG Electronics' 30-inch and 33-inch top-freezer models emerged as the clear winners, earning the coveted number one spots. These models impressed Consumer Reports with their exceptional temperature control, energy efficiency, and reliable performance.

Samsung Electronics also made a strong showing, with its 28-inch top-freezer model taking the top spot in the 21-28 inch category. LG Electronics' 28-inch model followed closely behind, securing the second position.

Consumer Reports' rigorous testing process involved analyzing over 5.4 million temperature data points and gathering feedback from thousands of consumers. The results highlight the superior quality and performance of Korean-made refrigerators.

"Korean appliance manufacturers continue to set the standard for innovation and reliability," said a spokesperson for Consumer Reports. "Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is evident in these outstanding results."

In addition to refrigerators, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics also excelled in the laundry category. LG Electronics' drum and top-load washer and dryer sets were ranked number one, while Samsung Electronics' agitator washer and dryer set also received top honors.

These impressive results solidify the position of LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics as leaders in the U.S. home appliance market, with a combined market share of nearly 47.7% in the refrigerator segment alone.
