The Bank of Korea's Busan branch has garnered attention by creating various souvenirs, including keychains and envelopes, from shredded banknotes. The branch announced on the 16th that it has produced these items by utilizing discarded banknotes, which are typically incinerated.

The keychains feature small glass bottles filled with finely shredded 50,000 won bills, while the transparent envelopes contain approximately 50 shredded 10,000 won bills. This initiative is inspired by the U.S. Federal Reserve's "Fed Shreds" merchandise.

Currently, the Bank of Korea's Busan branch is providing these souvenirs free of charge to representatives of companies surveyed for regional economic trends. The branch is also considering plans to offer these unique items to visitors of its currency exhibition hall in the future.
