Ahead of next month’s ‘Cheonan World Dance Festival 2026,’ the Cheonan Cultural Foundation announced on the 17th that it will host the ‘Cheonan International Street Dance Championship (CIDC) Republic of Korea Qualifiers’ on the 18th at the indoor tennis court of the Cheonan Stadium.

A total of 16 teams, including winners and runners-up from regional qualifiers held across 8 regions nationwide, will participate in this selection event.

The final selected teams are scheduled to compete fiercely on the ‘Street Dance World Cup’ stage representing South Korea at the Cheonan World Dance Festival 2026, which opens on the 5th of next month.

An official from the Cheonan Cultural Foundation stated, "As the top street dancers from each region gather through these regional qualifiers, we expect the best team representing South Korea to be selected." They added, "Starting with these qualifiers, we will strive to establish Cheonan as the central city of street dance in South Korea."
