Seoul, Korea – TiVo, a subsidiary of Xperi, has announced that its metadata service, The Movie Database (TMDB), has been integrated into LG Uplus' new content review platform, 1ROW.

1ROW is a unique service that combines LG Uplus' video resources with a writing platform, allowing users to create video reviews. Users can upload their own video reviews, or create reviews using screenshots, posters, or quotes from their favorite movies and TV shows.

TiVo has partnered with LG Uplus to provide its TMDB service to 1ROW, offering a wider range of movie and TV show resources. TMDB is the world's largest community-based movie and TV database, with a vast collection of metadata gathered from various online communities since 2008. This has enabled TMDB to build an extensive global content metadata library. The service has been recognized for its excellence by major US and European movie content service providers.

TMDB offers comprehensive metadata on movies, TV shows, and people, as well as high-resolution posters and fan art. The database is updated with an average of 1,000 new images daily and is officially supported in 39 languages. It is used by millions of people in over 180 countries.

"TMDB has become the most trusted platform for metadata, with over 1.5 million developers and companies using it," said Kim Jeong-ho, the lead of V Platform Services at LG Uplus. "By integrating TiVo's TMDB service into 1ROW, we are able to introduce a wide range of movies and TV content from around the world through LG Uplus."

Bill Routt, SVP of Global Pay TV Sales at TiVo, said, "TMDB is recognized as a trusted metadata service worldwide, processing over 3 billion requests daily from millions of users. With this partnership with LG Uplus, we hope to help more businesses in Korea develop high-quality services using TMDB's metadata."

LG Uplus launched the mobile app version (Android, iOS) of 1ROW with TMDB integrated in late October and plans to release a web version in 2025.
