Asunción, Paraguay - Olimpia Football Club has officially announced a major renovation project for its iconic Para Uno Stadium. The club had initially planned to complete the reconstruction by November 2023 to host the Copa Sudamericana final at home, but construction delays forced them to postpone those plans.

According to Álvaro Afonte, a journalist for Nación Media, the newly revamped Osvaldo Domínguez Dib Stadium will be the largest in Paraguay, capable of accommodating 46,000 spectators. Moreover, the stadium will be built to meet the highest FIFA standards, aiming to host matches during the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

The ambitious project involves a complete demolition of the existing structure and the construction of over 300 skyboxes. A partial roof will be installed, and a parking lot with a capacity of 600 vehicles will be built to enhance the fan experience.

Construction is set to begin in December 2023, with the grand opening slated for January 2027. Olimpia will soon make an official announcement regarding the project, and club president Rodrigo Nogues has already shared a rendering of the new stadium on his X account.

With this significant investment, Olimpia aims to solidify its position as one of the leading football clubs in South America and create a world-class sporting venue for the country.
