Daejeon, South Korea – The Daejeon Agricultural Technology Center has been recognized for its outstanding contributions to agricultural development by winning the top prize in the 2024 Professional Guidance Research Group Evaluation, hosted by the Rural Development Administration.

The center's 12 research groups, comprising 18 members, have been actively involved in various agricultural research projects, focusing on sharing specialized knowledge and addressing challenges faced by local farmers. Their dedication to enhancing the professional capabilities of agricultural extension workers has been instrumental in driving innovation in the region.

In particular, the grape research group, led by guidance officer Seo Jin-seok, has been commended for its significant contributions to the advancement of professional guidance research. Seo was honored with the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award.

The Daejeon Agricultural Technology Center has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering a culture of self-directed learning and active participation in training programs. These efforts have resulted in remarkable achievements and have been recognized by the evaluation committee.

Looking ahead, the center plans to continue building on its successes by further enhancing the expertise of its guidance officers through sustained research activities and training programs. The goal is to provide even greater support to farmers and contribute to the overall development of the agricultural sector in Daejeon.

"This award is a testament to the dedication and passion of our staff," said Lee Hyo-suk, director of the Daejeon Agricultural Technology Center. "As the agricultural landscape continues to evolve, we will remain committed to strengthening our professional guidance research activities to enhance the competitiveness of local agriculture and address the challenges posed by a rapidly changing environment."
