Incheon City has announced the expansion of its 'On-Site Safety Mentoring' project, aimed at bolstering food safety standards within the region's food manufacturing and processing sector. The initiative, designed to provide crucial support to new and small-scale food businesses, will now encompass instant food manufacturing and processing establishments, broadening its reach to a total of 36 enterprises.

The city, in collaboration with its 10 districts, has carefully selected 27 food manufacturing and processing businesses, alongside 9 instant food manufacturing and processing businesses, to participate in the mentoring program. The program will focus on key areas such as product manufacturing reporting, adherence to workplace facility standards, employee hygiene protocols, and the proper maintenance of machinery, equipment, and refrigeration/freezing facilities.

This proactive approach follows a successful campaign in the previous year, during which Incheon City conducted 94 guidance and improvement interventions at 42 food manufacturing and processing businesses located within facilities serving vulnerable community groups. These interventions addressed various issues, including food labeling standards, documentation procedures, and hygiene practices.

The 'On-Site Safety Mentoring' project underscores Incheon City's commitment to ensuring a safe and reliable food supply for its residents, fostering a culture of compliance and excellence within the local food industry.
