Yong-in, South Korea – Hyundai Mobis, a leading automotive parts supplier, held its annual 'M-Pils Festa' on December 23rd, showcasing the best innovative ideas from its employees. The event, now in its fifth year, is a platform for employees to present their creative solutions to various challenges in the mobility industry.
This year, over 780 innovative ideas were submitted by employees, with six finalists selected to present their concepts on stage. The finalists competed for the top prize through a live voting system, where 300 employees served as judges. The event was also live-streamed to employees worldwide.
The winning ideas for 2024 focused on enhancing the electronic brake system and improving the realism of augmented reality head-up displays. Eunhye Kim, a Hyundai Mobis researcher who won the grand prize, expressed her gratitude, stating, "I'm thrilled to have contributed to the future of mobility through this small innovation. Engaging in discussions with colleagues about these ideas has been incredibly rewarding."
Hyundai Mobis CEO, Kyuseok Lee, attended the event to congratulate the winners and encourage continued innovation. The winning ideas will undergo further evaluation for potential commercialization, following in the footsteps of the 'Parabolic Motion Glove Box' featured in Kia's EV9, which originated from an employee's suggestion.
Since its inception in 2019, Hyundai Mobis' idea-sharing platform has received over 4,200 submissions. The company plans to further encourage employee innovation by providing more opportunities for idea generation and implementation.
