The 2nd Chungnam Youth 4-H Agriculture Festival to be held on the 1st of next month

The Chungnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services announced on the 25th that it will host the "2nd Chungcheongnam-do Youth 4-H Agriculture Festival" on the 1st of next month at the National Sejong Arboretum.

This event is designed to promote 4-H activities and the values of agriculture and rural communities by revitalizing information exchanges among young farmers and offering participatory programs open to local residents.

The festival is expected to bring together around 1,000 participants, including young and collegiate 4-H members, leaders, and citizens. It will kick off with an opening ceremony, followed by various interactive and cultural programs.

Key programs include the Head, Heart, Hands, and Health (Ji-Deok-No-Che) stamp tour, promotion and sales of agricultural specialties by young farmers, agriculture and rural experience pavilions, a kids' farm market, bubble shows and cultural performances, and a 4-H promotional hall.

In particular, a marketplace showcasing and selling agricultural specialties directly produced by young 4-H members will be operated to expand contact points with consumers and raise public interest and understanding of agriculture.

Experiential programs for families and children have also been prepared. Through activities such as terrarium making, clover dalgona (honeycomb candy), and craft experiences, visitors will be able to easily and enjoyably experience the value of agriculture and rural life.

In addition, children who complete the free stamp tour will be given the opportunity to participate in the kids' farm market, providing them with a hands-on experience of selecting and purchasing agricultural products directly.

An official from the provincial agricultural research and extension services said, "We hope this communication and harmony festival, planned directly by young farmers, will serve as an opportunity to inform citizens about the importance of youth agriculture," adding, "We will continue to support the expansion of meetings between farmers and consumers centered around the 4-H association—representing young farmers—and foster talent in the agricultural industry."

Meanwhile, the Chungcheongnam-do 4-H Federation is an organization of young farmers carrying out various activities to enhance the competitiveness of young agriculturalists and lead changes in agriculture and rural communities.
