Chungnam Tourism’s Charm Hits Japanese Radio!

Chungnam Province collaborates with two radio stations in Japan's Kyushu region to produce a special tourism promotional broadcast

Chungnam Province announced on the 25th that it is cooperating with FM Fukuoka and FM Saga, two radio broadcasters in Japan's Kyushu region, to produce special broadcast programs promoting Chungnam tourism in order to attract Japanese tourists.

Under the theme “Nana Tashiro Goes! A Journey to Chungcheongnam-do Through the Ears,” this special broadcast will be based on on-site reporting conducted by local Japanese radio personality Nana Tashiro as she traveled directly through the province.

Over a 1-night, 2-day itinerary on the 22nd and 23rd, Nana Tashiro toured major tourist destinations in Gongju and Buyeo, covering tourism resources such as Baekje history and culture, natural landscapes, drama filming locations, and local gastronomy.

The broadcast is set to vividly convey the charm of Chungnam through live field audio, interviews, and narration.

The special program will be aired on November 29th for 25 minutes each: at 7:30 PM on FM Fukuoka and at 8:00 PM on FM Saga.

Because both broadcasters boast high listening rates in their respective prefectures, this is expected to serve as an opportunity to introduce Chungnam tourism to listeners interested in traveling to Korea and K-culture fans.

In addition, pre-broadcast advertisements are scheduled to run. From November 23rd to 29th, 20-second promotional ads will be aired 5 times on FM Fukuoka and 30 times on FM Saga to promote the special broadcast and heighten interest in traveling to Chungnam.

A provincial official stated, “Through local Japanese broadcasting, we expect to broadly introduce the historical and cultural resources of Gongju and Buyeo as well as the hidden tourism charms found throughout the province,” adding, “Moving forward, we will continue to pursue promotional and marketing efforts linked with local Japanese media to raise awareness of Chungnam tourism and lead to an increased number of Japanese tourist visits and the revitalization of local tourism.”
