Seoul, South Korea – The highly anticipated SBS Entertainment Awards has unveiled its nominees for the coveted Grand Prize, setting the stage for a thrilling competition among some of South Korea's biggest television personalities.

The teaser released on December 23rd features seven nominees confronting a mysterious priest in a confessional booth, adding a touch of intrigue to the already exciting announcement. Notably, Kim Nam-gil, the star of SBS's hit drama "Hot-Blooded Priest 2," lent his voice to narrate the teaser, following the massive success of the previous "Moodragon" teaser that garnered over 10 million views.

The nominees for the Grand Prize include Yoo Jae-suk, Jeon Hyun-moo, Shin Dong-yup, Lee Sang-min, Seo Jang-hoon, Lee Hyun-yi, and Kim Jong-kook. From the teaser alone, it's evident that the competition will be fierce as each nominee expresses their strong desire to win the top award.

Lee Sang-min, known for his appearances on "My Little Old Boy" and "Barefooted Friends," candidly stated, "Honestly, I want to win the Grand Prize once." Lee Hyun-yi, a regular on "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2" and "Goal Girls," demonstrated her enthusiasm by even getting up to dance. Having been nominated for the Grand Prize in 2023 as well, Lee shared her experience on a YouTube channel, saying, "Being nominated was already a joy, and I thought, 'Even negative comments are better than no comments at all.'" As the only female nominee for two consecutive years, all eyes will be on her to see if she can take home the trophy this time.

Kim Jong-kook, of "Running Man" and "My Little Old Boy" fame, jokingly challenged his fellow nominees, saying, "The Grand Prize criteria should include physical fitness. Can Lee Sang-min and Jeon Hyun-mu really film variety shows with those bodies?" Jeon Hyun-moo, who has been actively involved in various SBS programs, expressed his ambition, stating, "I feel like I'm in a relationship with SBS. I want to make a big splash here."

On the other hand, Yoo Jae-suk and Shin Dong-yup, both veterans in the entertainment industry, seemed more cautious in their responses to the mysterious priest. Yoo expressed confusion, while Shin bluntly told the priest to "shut up." Kim Jong-kook even shouted, "Come out," adding to the mystery surrounding the unidentified figure.

The 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards will be hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo, Jang Do-yeon, and Lee Hyun-yi on December 31st at 9 PM. As this is the first time the awards ceremony will be held on December 31st, SBS is planning a grand celebration featuring performances by numerous entertainers and appearances by popular celebrities.
