Tourism Administration Unveils 19 Holiday Travel Itineraries for Lunar New Year

Taipei, Taiwan – The Tourism Administration has released 19 proposed itineraries for domestic travelers during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, catering to a variety of interests, including photography, cycling, hot springs, camping, and cultural experiences.

Northern Highlights:

Instagrammable Spots: A one-day itinerary focuses on picturesque locations in the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area, featuring the Bitoujiao Trail, Tingtao Military Barracks, No. 9 Cafe near Old Caoling Tunnel, San Diego Lighthouse, Dafu Observation Deck, and Jhuangwei Dune Ecological Park.
North Coast & Guanyinshan: A two-day tour explores the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area, including cherry blossom viewing in Sanjhih, cycling on the Shuangwan Bike Path, visiting Fugueijiao Lighthouse, Jinshan Old Street, enjoying hot springs in Wanli, and cultural attractions like Dharma Drum Mountain, Juming Museum, Yehliu Geopark, and Lovers Lake Park.

Central Taiwan:

Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area: A two-day itinerary covers the Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area, encompassing the Bagua Mountain Ecosystems Visitor Center, the Great Buddha Scenic Area, Huyu Roundhouse Railway Park, Babbuza Dreamfactory, Songboling Shoutian Temple, and the Tea Culture Theme Pavilion.
Sun Moon Lake: A two-day tour focuses on experiencing the indigenous cultures of the Danda Bunun tribe at Sun Moon Lake, including Tamazuan community performances, visits to Shuanglong Waterfall, the Rainbow Suspension Bridge, and the Jhuoshuei River, along with a night tour.

Southern Taiwan:

Alishan: A two-day itinerary in Chashan Village within the Alishan National Scenic Area emphasizes indigenous handicrafts, tribal cuisine, and cultural immersion.
Siraya National Scenic Area: A one-day tour explores the Hsuan Kong Fa Temple, Dapu Heping Kiln, Dapu Visitor Information Station, and Cingyun Waterfall.
Maolin National Scenic Area: A focus on indigenous experiences in Maolin includes camping at Saijia, guided tours in the Djineljepan community, slate painting in the Talamakau community, and visits to the Maolin Archway and Bulubusha Suspension Bridge.
Dapeng Bay & Siaoliouciou Island: A two-day island-hopping itinerary in the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area offers a taste of local life and scenic spots on Siaoliouciou Island.

Eastern Taiwan:

East Coast & Southern Valley: The southern section of the East Longitudinal Valley, including the Wuling Green Tunnel, Luye Shinto Shrine, Sansiantai, and Douli, is recommended for nature lovers and cyclists.
