Daejeon, South Korea – The Daejeon city government has announced the grand reopening of the Travel Lounge, now rebranded as the "Shopping Travel Lounge," offering expanded services and a more welcoming space for visitors.

Located in the heart of Daejeon, between Daejeon Station and the former Chungnam Provincial Office, the Travel Lounge has been a go-to destination for travelers seeking information and a cultural experience. With the recent renovation, the city aims to transform the space into a hub for both tourism and shopping.

The most notable change is the doubling of the size of the "goods shop," which now offers a wider variety of locally-made products featuring the city's iconic character, Kkumdori. Additionally, the lounge has introduced a new "immediate tax refund system" to cater to international visitors, along with expanded luggage storage services.

To further enhance the shopping experience, the city plans to introduce a "goods pickup reservation service" through the "Daejeon Fun" app starting next month. This service will allow visitors to reserve their purchases in advance for convenient pickup.

To celebrate the reopening, the Shopping Travel Lounge will be hosting a "Daejeon Shopping Day" event every last weekend of the month until the end of the year. Customers who make purchases above a certain amount will receive complimentary gifts.

"We are excited to unveil the renovated Travel Lounge and offer visitors a more comprehensive and enjoyable experience," said a city official. "By expanding our shopping options and improving our services, we aim to make Daejeon an even more attractive destination for both domestic and international travelers."
